Texas requires a 60-day waiting period from the date the petition is filed before the divorce can be finalized.

Finalize the Divorce
Submit the Final Decree and VS-165 form. In Harris County, you may be able to finalize via prove-up affidavit (no court appearance) — ask your court coordinator. Otherwise, attend a brief hearing and read the sample testimony.
